Join us for a special evening as Wasat gathers in our new home to commemorate the 12th of Rabi' al-Awwal. Whether you are exploring Islam for the first time, looking to deepen your existing faith, or familiar with the traditional teachings of our guest scholars, this live, in-person gathering welcomes all seekers.
We will share in a traditional Mawlid filled with devotional praise, sacred remembrance, and uplifting words of wisdom. The evening features reflections from distinguished guest teachers, artists, and local scholars as they explore the spiritual depth, mercy, and guidance of the Prophetic example.

Imam Adéyínká MendesSenior Scholar at Wasat | Founder of Marhama Village | Author Teaching Islamic sciences and spiritual traditions for over two decades, Imam Adéyínká studied across Syria, Mauritania, Morocco, Nigeria, and Senegal under renowned spiritual masters. He dedicates his work to fostering spiritual growth, healing, and community service.
Dr. Rukayat YakubAward-winning Author | Educator & Researcher | Founder of Heartwork. With over 25 years of experience in educational spaces, Dr. Rukayat specializes in community culture transformation, identity formation, and prophetic ethics. She serves as an instructor at Ribāṭ Riverstead and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Ministry in Islamic Leadership.
Ameer NoureldinMunshid & Percussionist A resident munshid at Ta’leef Chicago since 2017, Ameer studies the sacred music and spiritual poetry of the Islamic tradition. His performances span Arabic, Urdu, Turkish, and Spanish classics at spiritual gatherings around the globe.
